Product Data Sheet Mobiltac 375 NC
Superior Open Gear Lubricant
Product Deion
Mobiltac 375 NC is an unleaded, diluent-type, heavy bodied open gear lubricant, incorporating extreme
pressure additives for load-carrying. It is intended primarily for the lubrication of large, slow-moving, heavily
loaded open gears. It contains a non-chlorinated volatile solvent that ensures fluidity during application. The
flash point of the solvent is sufficiently high to present no hazard when applied with care under normal working
conditions. Once applied, the diluent evaporates and the lubricant assumes a flexible, adhesive, high-strength
consistency which is maintained throughout its service life. Mobiltac 375 NC adheres strongly to gear teeth,
resisting "fling-off", thereby providing a wear-resistant, viscous, continuous film that lubricates well under
boundary conditions.
Mobiltac 375 NC will not harden, chip or flake in cold weather. It is self-healing and will not form hard-packed
deposits in the gear teeth roots. Dripping and throw-off are minimal and the lubricant is easily cleaned up with a
solvent-soaked rag. Mobiltac 375 NC is resistant to rain, snow and process water washing.
Mobiltac 375 NC is a new generation product which is easily applied by hand or automatic dispenser.
Benefits
Mobiltac 375 NC offers the following benefits:
· Excellent protection of gear teeth under boundary lubrication conditions
· Excellent pumpabilty and sprayability, even at low temperatures, giving improved lubrication
· Minimal losses due to throw-off and dripping, resulting in reduced consumption and lower lubricant
costs
· No chipping o rflaking at low temperatures and excellent resistance to rain, snow and water washing,
ensuring a continuous lubricating film at all times
· Absence of hard-packed deposits in the gear teeth roots, giving longer periods between cleaning and
less maintenance
Application
Mobiltac 375 NC is recommended for the lubrication of highly loaded open gears, including those that operate
at high temperatures, such as ring gears on cement kilns and large gears on ore processing mills. However,
operating temperatures above 93°C are not recommended.
